Which Awning?

I have a 2004 Ford E-350 RB.

Which make/model awning is preferable for this vehicle?

Thanks!

Lots. You could go with a cheap Shady Boy for around $100 if I remember right, though I don't recommend it.
Next up are the $2-300 ARB/Smittybilt/CVT/Rhino Rack standard type awnings that can be found on Ebay, Amazon or at any offroad place. The best, in my opinion, is the CVT (Cascadia Vehicle Tents) which you can get directly from them.
Next jump in price is probably the $700 Batwing type awning, made by Rhino Rack. Look it up, it's pretty neat.
The factory Sportsmobile (and other small RV converter) type is a Fiamma, which is all cool and Euro and expensive at around $900-1200.

On top of the price of the awning you'll need some gutter brackets which 1der (forum username) can hook you up with. Sportsmobile also has them, or you could mount to a roof rack if you have a fixed top or no top. Gutter mount style brackets are the easiest way to mount an awning on a pop-top van. Expect about $200 more for them.

The cassette type awnings, like Fiamma, are super trick but cost you. Fiamma is closed right now due to some really bad stuff happening there in June. They may reopen soon. Another option for a cassette type is Carefree. There is another in Socal but the name escapes me.

I've got an Aluminess roof rack mounted to the gutter (no pop-top). I figured I would mount the awning to the roof rack.

So which of the Fiamma awnings does Sportsmobile use?

Yep, F45S 3 meter is what SMB uses.

SMB gutter brackets require drilling into the side of the van.

You've got it easy then. It's pretty easy to mount any awning to a roof rack with no pop top, usually using big L brackets that are provided with the awning.
At least the less expensive awnings come with them (ARB, CVT, etc.) I'm not sure about Fiamma.

You have all been a great help.

I figure I will buy the Fiamma F45S. Next problem, how do I buy one? Their website does not have an on-line store.

I sent them an e-mail, perhaps they will get back to me.

Thanks for all of your help!

Sportsmobile and Aluminess are both distributors.. however, as mentioned above, Fiamma USA has been closed for six weeks and so everyone is backordered.
