Use the top of the U bolts to bolt in place.

That would work, but my solution was to remove the rubber stop from where it bolted to the frame and put a 3" piece of box tube (6" height in my case) between it and the frame. Effectively lowering the bump stop 6". It now hits the axle tube just before the shock bottoms out. Seems to work good and was super easy.

The things I do to keep peace in the family....
I used the stock bolt in the rubber bumper to fasten it to the box
tube and a new bolt for the tube to the frame. Piece of pie.

Re: Another Satisfied Deaver Spring Customer
ok I liked his Idea and did my take on it. I used 2x4 .188 square tube cut 2 inch in lenght.
The only differance is wanted the open ends inline with the axel just incase it hits at a angle.
before
Then the build up and paint
after

Re: Another Satisfied Deaver Spring Customer
Just had Deavers installed on the rear on Friday and drove about 250 miles after the install. I have not noticed a difference in the ride on the road so far. I have not had a chance to take off road yet to check that but has the road ride improved for anyone?

Maybe the Deavers only shine when you have your rig fully loaded. How loaded was your van on the 250 mile run?
