Expo Vans 4x4 Conversion

Curious if anyone has any thoughts on the Expo Vans 4x4 Conversion. The market the conversion stressing the use of Ford factory parts and only bolt on versus welding.

It’s a good conversion. I love having the tight turning radius that coil springs offer. Michael Gabriel is a stand-up guy and a good engineer who has put the time into doing this right. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Have you seen the build thread?

Thank You

Thank you for the response. A few more questions if you don't mind. Why did you choose them versus other conversions and what was the cost. Do you have any links to comparisons with other conversions. I don't need"rock climbing " capability but don't want to avoid going off road when I'd like too. Have a nice evening!

It seemed to me that this is the most accessible to the typical DIYer on a budget and uses mostly stock or readily available components. You can also easily use the newer superduty front axles with the bigger brakes.

When you figure two axles, transmission work, driveshafts, transfer case, suspension parts, exhaust rerouting, and new wheels/tires, you’re typically looking at over $10k.

Check out the knowlede share thread. Some folks have posted their cost spreadsheets.
