Re: Motorcycle Carriers
Do any of the carriers swing out of the way (while loaded) for access to the rear doors? That probably isn't feasable in a package of reasonable weight, bulk and cost. It sure would be nice though.

I haven't seen anything. That is one reason I put the rack on the front, even when not towing. That, and the lower load height. Rear is tall enough its no longer a 1-person job.

Re: Motorcycle Carriers
Any air flow issues with the moto mounted up front? I figure bicycles would be fine, but unless you get the moto to sit low enough there may be reduced air flowing through the radiator and coolers.

Temps stay the same, incl transmission. But I do have a large cooler because the Buckstop+lights did increase trans temps with the stock cooler. Carrying bikes up front does mess with the Windshield washer spray pattern however.

Ha! I wouldn't have thought about that, lol.
Good to hear that temps are not a big problem... My plans (maybe the word "dreams" would be more accurate) include a dual-sport bike on the front of my van as well.

Sorry for the delay, life gets busy. I have used the rack 3 or 4 times and so far I really like it. Joe preferred not to use more than one hitch mount point as he has actually had somebody crack a frame. I don't think that would happen as easily on the E350 but you never know. It does flex on bumpy roads, hence the foam on the top rail of my box. Never an issue so far, even with the two gas cans full and in their place. I am sure to secure the bike with multiple tie downs and have air bags on the van.
Also, I CAN open both sides of the Aluminess and the doors without removing the rack.
Eric

Re: Motorcycle Carriers
I really like the custom joehauler rack above and would be my first choice..... however I already have a moto receiver hauler and I just need to make it work for my sportsmobile with spare and basket on back. Going to order the 12" receiver extension from Amazon and try and find the highest rating for lbs. I also picked up a new to me motorcycle last week, a Yamaha 08 wr250R. I introduced it to my other motorcycle and they are becoming friends.

Re: Motorcycle Carriers
I think your F800GS has a crush on the Yamaha. You should probably put an exhaust plug in it or you might end up with a bunch of PW50's.

Re: Motorcycle Carriers
My WR stays warm and dry.
In foul weather a bike really gets mucked up back there.
But yes, a dirty bike going back in the van is no fun either...
Everything is give and take.
Nice set-up though KTMRIDER.
