Re: Central Ca October 2009 Meet.
D-7 section is Sept 19th to Nov 1st.
I've been at Sample several times and the hunters are usually few in numbers. If a storm comes in you might see a few more but that camp is fairly large enough to maintain a bit of privacy. I have seen a few large camps set up where hunters come and go, plus it’s also wood cutting season. People bring large flatbed trailers to load wood. Back toward Hunnington there is a camp called Badger (I think that's the name) which has been empty every time I've visited. It does not appeal to hunters for some reason. It's more centrally located but there is no place for those who wish to boon dock close by like Sample has.
But hell, I don't know if many are even gonna show up. We are probably just going to set up at Sample.
It would be nice to find out who is truely interested. So far it's you and me Keith, Craig, Mike 6.0, Esmi, SMBDAD seemed like he was willing to make the trip, Jeffery also said maybe. Scatter said he was going down to Mexico. (Scatter there are lots of spots to boondock at)
Anybody else?

Re: Central Ca October 2009 Meet.
Sorry daveb, and others. It's Baja time and the boon docking is really supurb there. As I've mentioned before, if anyone or a group wants to do Baja, I'll be happy to jump in and help set things up. Know lots of places to go depending on what interests are.
Other then that, hope you have lots of fun and take pictures and post 'em here.

Re: Central Ca October 2009 Meet.
We will be heading up there on Thursday the 22nd and leaving on Sunday. Bringing our dog, gin for Martinis, and veggie food.
And I would love to go to Baja but I am retired and my wife still works so I don't wnat to rub it in too much - I would be traveling solo.
Regards,
Keith

Re: Central Ca October 2009 Meet.
I was hoping to make this trip as well, but this will be the week we are traveling in the SMB. Either Northern California/Sierras, or a Baja trip on the Sea of Cortez side. Sorry I'm going to miss it.

Re: Central Ca October 2009 Meet.
I'm still planning on being there.
My wife gets back from Hawaii on Tuesday, and I'll head up Thurs/Fri. Maybe just to hang out and relax for awhile.
And, of course, to put faces to screen names. Love to meet people and talk.

Re: Central Ca October 2009 Meet.
We, Kathy and I, Plan to attend. Just need firm dates and places. The area is really nice to backpack, hike or explore by car. Our van is two wheel drive so we will not be doing any radical off road stuff. Two wheel drives could check out Florence or Edison lakes and do some hiking. Should be fun.

Re: Central Ca October 2009 Meet.
Just wondering if this is going to be an organized event or an ad hoc one? Whats the general consensus? If organized I volunteer to help organize it but I no absolutely nothing about this area. Dave are you going to take the lead? If you do and you want help let me know. I can help make maps, copy trail guides, come up with GPS waypoints etc. Here is the list from the thread so far. Anyone want to add or delete information just send me an email and I will update it.
