Gonna put the dates on my calendar -- hoping dates/time will fall into place? Just "talkin" here - anybody got any thoughts about posting your "forum handle" on your windshield/dashboard so "newbies" can recognize you as a forum member - and begin the conversation(s) with those attending ? Or is that too korny or an intrusion ?

Awesome Carl! Thanks for taking the lead on this. Like many others, no idea if I can make it.

I travelled through there yesterday and the humidity is so thick the haze is sitting in the valleys. It's hot everywhere at the moment though, almost 100 here yesterday. Can't tell the humidity because the gauge exploded.

It was beautiful driving across 68 from my air conditioned seat.

I'd love see it in the Fall.

MaineWildlands - Pets are permitted.

Copied from their website:

"Responsible Pet Owner Guidelines Pet Definition

Consistent with existing definitions of "pet" in State regulations and law, the Maryland Park Service pet policy refers to domesticated animals, such as cats and dogs, and does not include farm animals including, but not limited to, cattle, goats, sheep and swine. Horses are permitted on designated trails and in designated campgrounds.
Park Rules

All pets must be licensed and have all required vaccinations, including a rabies vaccination.
Pets must be leashed. Pets may be off-leash and under voice control while swimming in designated areas or hunting (with the appropriate permit).
Pet owners must clean up after their pet. Waste disposal containers are available in most areas.
Service animals are permitted in all pedestrian areas.
Pets, with the exception of service animals, are not allowed in park buildings.
Pets, with the exception of service animals, are not allowed in playgrounds.
Pet owners must obey all park signs that prohibit the entry of pets into specific areas.
Excessive barking is not permitted in any park area, especially during campground "quiet hours" (10:00 p.m.- 7:00 a.m.)."

doublevan2 - I think that's a good idea, matching forum handles with the actual person and van.

86Scotty - Humidity this time of the year is bad in this area, but it will be nice in September! Hope you can make it.

Thank you, good to know. If I can make it, I'll see if I can get a couple cared for, and leave the chickens at home.

Carl - Thanks for taking the lead on this. As with others, if our schedule permits we would like to join. It would be good to see everyone again.

doublevan2 - this is a primitive campsite, no hookups (electric or water), basically a big field where you pull in and find a spot. This is typical. Generators are welcome. I am assuming it will be cool enough by then that air conditioning will not be necessary. We have a 30 gallon fresh water tank in our van and will probably take a few 7 gallon jugs, which will be more than enough for 5 days for us.

Man I hope we can make this meet-up Carl, thank you for organizing the event.
Unfortunately we probably wont be able to make a commitment until a week or two out, but now that you've set a date we at least have a target.
Really would be a lot of fun meeting the group !
