Bullfinch Shower Point No. 6088 - No Water :(

Hi friends,

Wife and I acquired a Sportsmobile equipped with the outdoor shower. Previous owner said he just plugged in the shower and it worked, although he said he used it only once. I've tried every valve in the rig, had pump on, had heater on, traced water lines, and am at a loss. The "less than informative" SMB sheet says there are two switches, like a hallway, but I can only find the one pump switch for the sink.

To note, around where the city water connects, right next to the shower valve, there are two water lines that run to the underside of the vehicle. When I turn them, water leaks to the ground, telling me "I should" have water at the valve.

Do the valves go bad often? Any way to check/test?

Thanks all.

Are you working on this with water in the tank or on city water?

My city water is on the side of the van and shower connection is in the rear next to the flat plate water heater.

There may be valves controlling flow. I have one behind my water tank inside the van for city water (I believe) that I leave open, another one by the tank and water pump inside the van that I leave closed except for when filling with city water otherwise I believe the pump might push the water back in the tank.

There may be external drain valves under your hot water heater. I assume you aren't getting water on the ground there and they are closed. I leave them open during the winter.

This is with water from the tank, using the pump. I've looked everywhere for a closed valve, nada. The search continues tho. I think I may plug in city water and see if it works, just to narrow anything down :/

Do you have a sink? If so, when the pump is "on" does water flow there?

Yes, sink functions great. The only thing not working on the whole rig is the dang outdoor shower. I've checked the hose, not clogged, and the fitting on the valve and hose appear to be fine as well. When I first checked the hose, and blew through it, water came out, so at one point there was water in the hose.

You might try city water just to make sure.

Can you access the water lines behind the Bullfinch? If city water doesn’t work, you might try disconnecting a water line behind the Bullfinch to see if you can get water flow.
