I have an older 7.3, the floor gets too hot to drive barefoot or flipflops (both legal in the nanny state of California, go figure). My girl complains (mildly) about the passenger side radiating heat around her feet.
My engine compartment has a factory heat shield over the top of the turbo, I wonder if the 6.0 came with one from the factory, but someone removed it along it's life. I recently noticed that my accelerator pedal (plastic) is partially melted!
I'm working on a wrap around fiberglass heat shield 'pancho' solution, that covers the up-pipes and exhaust manifolds (but doesn't trap heat against the valve covers), to hold the heat in the pipes, and keep it off the floor and doghouse. I have most of the brackets fabricated, I just need to finish it up. I also bought an aftermarket fitted 'turbo blanket', to augment the factory turbo cover. I'll post up some pics of what I have, after I make a little more progress.
