contrary to what is stated here,

Provides full dealer diagnostic capabilities to Most 16pin cars 1996-2016 for Ford (can't do 24v vehicle.) including for some new 2016 vehicles. Supports the car after 1996 for Mazda.

Unfortunately, I received this reply from the seller re: the knockoff VCM II

Does this cover 1996-2014 Ford Econoline E-150, E-250, E-350?

New message from: erectsport (326 )
I'm sorry dear, we have received the reply from the manufacturer, it does not fit. Thank you for your attention

this suggests there is no OBDII port programming solution.

I know we already had this discussion in one or more different threads.
The conclusion for 2008+ E-Series Vans is this :
- ForScan will not work
- the RPM data are taken from the ABS sensors and not only from the diff or transmission
- programming the ABS module and changing the odometer reading seems never been provided by any Ford dealer
- the one and only way - as far as I know - is to use a SCT X4 tuner together with a custom tune from 5star. This worked for me and a couple of other folks.

I asked the seller about this VCX Nano supporting Econolines. He answered in the affirmative for 2005 Up Vans.

I don't know if this dealer-level tool will work to change the VSS scaling but it might be worth a try. The dongle costs about $95 and the subscription is $49 for a day.

For my purposes on a 2000 E-350 I plan to try a Arduino clone with some frequency convertor code spliced into the VSS output of the ECM. I will be able to extend the wires with access under the hood and locate the Arduino in the cab. This would then only affect the Dash and the Cruise Control Servo.

Does this support Ford Econoline from 2005 thru 2014?

Understanding Ford’s F-Series VSS Systems

On an AC, permanent magnet sensor, both AC voltage and frequency increase with the speed of the trigger wheel. The AC voltage should range from 0 volts at 0 MPH to 3.5 volts at 30 MPH.

Frequency should increase from 0 Hz at 0 MPH to about 125 Hz at 55 MPH.

125/55 = 2.272727 Hz/MPH

What year.. ?

After 1996 you can use a Ford Scan Tool to reset the tire size after you do the math. 1996 and before requires the ODO button and a few extra steps. But it can be done.

This here will tell you how to do it with a 1996 or older. The ECU on the 96 and older does not control tire size like it does on the 97 and up .

Are you referring to IDS?

" IDS is the Dealer level diagnostics and programming system. "
