Re: Jacks/Airbag, Recovery Gear and Tire kits

Jage: It won't fit behind the spare tire swing arm. I tried that. It is too thick. I also tried behind the box. If it wasn't so high it would work there, but alas, it doesn't fit there either. Now I see the value of a rack on top of the van.

Silver350: Good idea. I'll try it out today.

You can't do this Mac? I'm not sure what Charlie had back here.

From my experience, the rear spare should be covered anyway to protect from weather and UV rays. Maybe put the air jack directly on the spare and then fly the "SportsmobileForum.com" colors on a tire cover!

Hint hint Jage...

Re: Jacks/Airbag, Recovery Gear and Tire kits

Okay, I checked out the X-Jack today to see if it worked.

It didn't. It definitely is a two person job. The hose kept blowing off the exhaust so I had to have my wife rev the engine while I held the hose on. Then it inflated very, very slowly. Once it got blown up tight against the frame it did not go any higher.

The exhaust blowing in did not have enough force to lift the van. Tomorrow I will use my compressor and see if that makes a difference. If not, I may have to use the jack for the Toyota!

Wow, I think you might have just saved a lot of us from running out and buying an X-jack. What's is rated for?
