Not what you're looking for, it appears, but mine came with ICI steel tube nerf bars. They are fine for getting in, but nearly worthless for getting out (can only get your heel on the step pad as so close to the rocker/body). On the upside, they are strong so provides good rocker protection and they are not likely to get hung up on rocks, etc. Right now, some of the paint has come off mine, so will strip, primer and coat them with bed liner (all but for the plastic/rubber pads). Here's link to a pic of stainless ones for a F series, but you get the idea: http://www.tonnocover.com/php/watermark ... wct&id=116

steps

Nerfbars caused many rust issue complaints at SMB, some folks actually had them Line-X coated. The Nerfboards are aluminum.

For what it's worth, Warn (as in Warn winch) at one time offered a nice steel step like the Hoop step, that would fold-up. It had a thick rubber step pad. Not sure if they still offer it, or what size they offer, but the quality was very good. I think when Warn came out with it, SMB was just starting to use the Nerfboard and focused on it instead.

Just don't blame me when your early warning system gets shoved through the side!

Ideally you would install these all along the rails:

I've jacked up my van using the rock rails I made last year. Also banged one pretty hard on a rock in Baja. Just scratched the powder coat on the bottom. They're not much of a step, but the attached fold-out steps take care of that when camped.

Aluminess Nerf Boards

Anybody have experience with these? If so, how far from the door sill is the step? Hard to mount?

Re: nerf bars vs large hoops - ATS Designs Edge Nerf Boards??

Where To Get ATS Designs Edge Nerf Boards?

Hi Folks,

Anybody know the best place (good price, willing to ship, etc.) to order some ATS Designs Edge Nerf Boards (see post Tue Apr 08, 2008 8:38 am on this thread) for a 2008 E-350? ideally in BC or Washington State - but I will settle for a company that will ship to Point Roberts, WA and I will cross the border to pick them up? I have talked to ATS but they keep referring me to their wholesalers that don't sell retail. I know they make the 102" size and the E-350 mounting kit - but I need to contact a retailer. Never had so much trouble finding someone to take my money!

Thanks,

Allen

Re: nerf bars vs large hoops

Can't you have them ordered through SMBw and have them drop shipped to you?

Re: nerf bars vs large hoops

That could be an option,...I can give that a try. Truth be told, my van isn't a Sportsmobile.
Thanks
