Interested as well. My passenger side doesn't seat fully at the back end unless I give it a little help with my foot as it's closing.

So, I bought my setup used and in pieces. So when I got it all assembled the steps seemed kinda slow. I knew they were old, so I figured I would replace the actuators. As I mentioned the new ones seem to work about as well as the old ones, albeit they are new so this must just be how they work. As far as getting the steps to tuck all the way back up, have you adjusted the bolt adjuster(where the hole in the step is at) to pull the step up tighter? My adjuster was all rusted, so this weekend when replacing the actuators, I also replaced the bolts and now I can actually adjust them to pull up tight. One thing I did think was strange is that it seems like the shock should do the opposite of what it does. The shock appears to help push the steps down, but I would have thought that the shock would be better suited to help pull the steps back up as that is where the actuators seem to complain the most.
Dave, one other thing I noticed on my passenger side is that the aluminum L metal that attaches all the pieces together was bent so initially, it kept sliding out of alignment on the metal pins and that caused a little binding when retracting that step, so I put some JB weld on the metal pin to keep it from slipping and that seems to have worked very well. I wonder if yours might be doing the same, preventing it from fully retracting.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure my adjuster is setup right as the step aligns just fine with a little help on the way up. Like you, mine are slow and sound like they struggle during closing but work much better with some 'assistance'.

All it takes is a little help up and it retracts. The colder it is outside the less it retracts. I've replaced the actuator and shock which seemed to work for a few years but that side slowly began to fail to close again. Might just require another rebuild.

Put in the dana 70 axle this weekend. It's a full float drw axle out of an e450, 72.5" wms width I believe. The parking brake is the only thing that had to be swapped for the new axle, everything else bolted back on easy. I plan to go dually in the future, just running singles now. Had to get new open ended lug nuts also due to the longer studs on the drw axle.
All in all I'm happy with it. The 4.10 gears it came with are a nice upgrade from the 3.55.

Installed some Agency6 grab handles in place of the stock handles. Way more betterer. Discovered them via fbook.

Interesting. Would I need them, probably not, but that's rarely stopped me before.

^^Yikes, that’s a lot of coin for some grab handles. I think I can live with my OEM plastic ones [emoji15]
