Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Well today I went a little over the top...

Actually did a few days ago but just got around to posting. It is a SnoWay 26HD with downpressure. total added weight is 600lbs (if you look close you can see the new in-coil airbags) including the custom mounts. I also took into acount the new brackets for the Superduty axles from Ujoint Offroad going under it in June. I have all the parts for my Aluminum winch bumper but might not get to that untill next week. Alos just picked up the Superduty axles from a Salvage Yard I deal with. Told them I was looking for some (05-07 for the bigger brakes) and they just called with a set from a 07 in 4.10 ratio with only 19,209mi on them. Going out to pick them up on Tues.

Bones,

Van looks good. And the mirrors also look good on it.

Take care,

Mike

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Thursday I took out of the driver's side cabinets that had been installed by SMB 15 years ago to open up some space. They won't be going back in. I'm using that space instead to mount two 1.5-inch diameter poles from floor to ceiling onto which I can mount swing arms for monitors and other tech gear. Mobile office!

In the meantime, I'm packing up my bags and my dog to do a short overnight at Alsea Falls, Oregon. Should be a wet, near-freezing good time.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Hi
Today I fitted the passenger side swivel seat base. It is a FASP model for pre 1999 Iveco Daily. It needed to relocate the holes by no more than an inch and was pretty straight forward, I will however have to modify the door trim as the rear of the seat runners tend to rub.

Just doing the drivers side now

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Yesterday and today- moved it out of winter storage, put a bucket under the cover and moved it to the sun to get the last traces of ice off, then opened it up and started to put it back together (everything was thrown all over from the leak we had just before moving). All systems look good, batteries held their charge (the one house that is connected better than the starters).

The one strange thing is there was a pastry puff (1.5x1x1"?), some kind of cinnamon filled pillow thing on the rear bumper tucked up against the cover. I was mortified as it looked like a recipe for mice infestation, but there were no mice (thanks cat smell and dryer sheets!). It was really weird and had no marks- I'm hoping it was a 1 in 1000 bird drop by one of the giant crows and not someone sticking it there... weird.

So what is the penalty for no pictures? I mean ... nice graphic description, but really, no pictures?

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Let's hope the penalty is minor - I have no pictures of this project:

I changed out the SMB supplied solar controller for a Blue Sky 2000E controller. Had to make an adaptor plate to cover the 4 old screw holes and to mount the new controller.

What kind of Mobile Office needs floor to Ceiling 1.5" poles?
