Qst.: OBD

Hi,

I‘m most reading and loving all the possibilities you have in the US
live in germany, driving a 2006 EB 6.0 Eplorer build and did some interieur changes.
To learn more, I just buy a OBDLink MX and FORScan to see more detail etc. But the OBD didn‘t react after plugging in. Is there a fuse or something I can look?

Few weeks ago, my remote fob didn‘t work anymore, batt. change, different fob, nothing helps. Could it be that both errors are a combination?

Thanks for any hint, advice…

cheers
Gunter

I don't know anything about the device you are using but there aren't nearly as many of us here tuning on vehicles, especially diesels, as the pick up truck community. Lots and lots of diesel tuning guys on those kinds of forums could probably help you. did you Google the device you bought (OBDLink MX)?

A few of us here play with Forscan, it's been awhile for me personally.

Hi Eric,
I will also go with FORScan and they prefer OBDLink MX+. It seems, there is no device power on my OBD port in my van.
Using the MX+ device in my Mustang, MY2020, power led is on, connecting with FORScan works as designed. That‘s the reason, I think, there is no power at the port in my van

This is most likely a blown fuse, not sure about 2006, my 2004 was F2.26 at the central junction box. Of course that is on my 2004, so 2006 could be different. Should be able to check manual for fuses

check out www.alldata.com for electrical documentation. It is unfortunately a pay for site

This is from the 2002 service manual. Reiner that fuses blow for a reason so check the circuit for shorts.

Gunter if you're interested in obtaining a Ford factory wiring manual or EVTM here's one on eBay that may interest you: https://www.ebay.com/itm/18519055608...EAAOSw8vlhpOVK

You can also download and keep in your files a Ford Owner's Manual which has some very useful information too---all free: https://www.ford.com/support/owner-manuals/

I hope this helps!

@GGE Gunter, if you come to Berlin (for the running boards), we can test my OBD Tools. They work for me with ForScan.
