Regarding the shaking. Mine are shaking as well, BUT:
I don’t see the rack shaking!

You’re touching your rubber tires, so this is the first part of movement I see. The bigger the tires and the less air pressure you have the bike will automatically “shake”.
Second is your headtube. Once the bike starts swinging/ shaking the head tube will not keep it in place very stiff and it will do what it’s supposed to do: rotate.

So all in all: based on what I see it’s only the bike shaking on the carrier and not the carrier itself.

One more vote for 1up. I have mine mounted above the Deluxe box with the bike rack frame/box Aluminess built. Really like how the bikes are up high, out of the way and swing open with the box for back door access.

About a year in, one of the arms stopped closing smoothly, I had to jiggle it closed one notch at a time. I mis-diagnosed the failure and contacted customer support for a replacement part I couldn't find on their website. They very helpfully replied with the correct diagnosis, the fix, and a nice image to make it clear. The problem does occasionally recur, but is easy to fix again.

This was their reply, if anyone else needs it:

Please loosen the bolt in the diagram a ¼ - ½ of a turn. If the bolt is too tight or is binding in the hole it will apply top pressure on the cam-locking mechanism not allowing it to function properly.

I have a 4bike hitch mounted 1UP rack and so far it's been great. My only issue is bought their RakAttach Swing arm so the rack can swing 90 degrees to the driver side and have full access to the rear of the van. The problem I found on our last trip was with the weight of 4 bikes, their is significant lateral flex in the swing-arm. Has anyone come across this?
