Heating with Mr. Buddy portable heater

Hi Everyone - We're new to van camping and very excited about purchasing a Chevy cargo van. Sportsmobile will do a partial conversion, and we'll do the rest ourselves. We'd like to heat it occasionally by using a Mr. Buddy Heater attached by hose to a 20 LP cylinder that will be outside the van when in use. Our question relates to transportation of the 20 LP cylinder. We've read that we should transport the cylinder in a compartment totally separate from passengers. We don't see how that is possible. We're looking for information on how others transport these cylinders and what safety precautions they follow. Thanks much for your help.
