Help with Ricon a6000 lift

I just acquired a 1999 Ford E150 with a Ricon A6000 wheel chair lift. Lift worked good for a week. Now when I hit deploy, only the door closest to the passenger seat opens. The other door, nor the lift will work. Any fellow van owners with lifts have any ideas on what I can check/fix?

Did it come with a wiring diagram? Can you contact the manufacturer or the upfitter that installed it?

This is a bit of a guess, but check the first door limit switch that "tells" the system the door is fully open before the next operation in the sequence can occur.

I agree a wiring diagram/service manual would be very helpful.

You should be able to get something from the Ricon website:

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately there are no manuals or diagrams that came with this van/lift. And I contacted Ricon and apparently no one works there now that had worked in 2000! They did not recognize their own product, the A6000 lift, and did not find any information about it. So I am having to "reverse engineer" and try to understand which pieces do what. I am replacing the 3 circuit breakers on the motherboard, as I was able to reset and work the lift a couple of times, but that does not work now. I was hoping someone out there might know about or have some information on the A6000 that could point me in the right direction as to what controls the doors, and what controls the lift.

Ouch. Definitely sounds like a tough one. Next step would be to look for a local installer/conversion company. They may still have records on file from 20 years ago. From the wee bit of Googling I did, the wiring diagrams I found were related to the lift itself. How the van components are controlled may vary depending on the installer.

Good luck!

I’d call Ricon back to see if they can provide an outfit/company in your area that installs their newer units - they may be your best resource.

Again thanks for the responses. IanF suggested the limit switch on the first door, and it seems that could be the problem. A friend helped me and we disconnected the door rod and let the first door swing free. The entire deploy process worked multiple times. I reconnected the door rod and the deploy process failed. Disconnected the door rod again and the deploy/stow process works like a charm. I found a manual on line for the power door control, and will be doing some adjustments to the door limit switches. Will post results.

I was able to open the door panel and found the limit switches on the first door were needing to be adjusted. Once I set the adjustments, the doors and lift all work properly now.

I will reach out to my installer tomorrow morning and see if I can get you a copy of the wiring and operating diagrams for that lift. I run a Monarch elite in my E350 SD, but have ran several other lifts these last 5 years. Back with you tomorrow.........

Thanks Matty. That would be great if your installer can find the information.
