Have been searching around lately for some mud flaps for my e250. Wondering what kind people on here are running and how they are attached? Picked up a set of universal dee zee flaps but it looks like an extra bracket would need to be made to secure them well.
Datzneat -- I built my own for my 2002 E350 front wheels - been meaning to do my rears but life keeps screwing up my timing and projects ! Bought "truck mud flaps off Amzn and used 3/4 inch alum from Home Depot. Also used stainless bolts from HD - drilled holes thru pinch weld, etc. Maybe cost $ 25 for hardware - most money went to truck flaps - but only needed to buy one - and plenty leftovers for rear mud flaps. I'd try to take a photo for you - but too dark tonight ! Maybe tomorrow ? Georgia location.
RE Mud flaps -- when I first decided to do mud flaps (for my first van - 2005 SMB) I initially found that the "standard' flaps were just not wide enough to cover my tires side to side. AND - the "plastic" flaps seemed like they would never hold up very long to road gravel, etc. GRAVEL EATS PLASTIC quite easily ! That's why I bought the thicker "truck" rubber flaps and would cut them to extend maybe a half inch outside the width of the tires. This type of flap also seemed to "knock" down he stones better/faster than the thinner plastic-like flaps would. The heavier truck flaps also helped prevent "wind sail" -- and I also banded the bottom of the flaps with double sided strips of alum - for extra weight/wind sail.
I sold my 2005 van with about 36,000 on it and the mud flaps were probably 98% "all there, albeit with stone dents, gouges, etc., but NO holes or slices.
