It does have a fairly low 1st gear on that 10 speed transmission. Have no idea if that would be low enough for you. I routinely go up steeps in second gear as first is too low but I do use first on occasion.
No transfer case with low range so not interested. Roads I travel low range is just as important as having all 4 wheels pulling.
No clearance either and no easy way to address that. Actually, no way at all to address it. There is a great thread on Expedition Portal right now about it.
Coguzzi (one of our members here as well) sums it up pretty well:
There's no 2 speed t case option that I can find. That's pretty lame. But at least I won't find these in my favorite campsites. It'll be with all of the Sprinters.
