Geico and Progressive won't insure unless the vehicle came manufactured as an rv. That was my recent finding. Allstate would insure my rig post build out.

Same here. Just renewed my Progressive policy. Around $560.00 a year. Prices for these have gone up and needed to insure mine for $40,000.

My Insurance experience

Just joined the SMB club and had a nightmare finding comprehensive insurance because my rig was so old. No one seems to understand that a recent 4x4 conversion and Cummins 24v swap make a '92 still pretty valuable. Not to mention replacement value of the penthouse...

If anyone is looking recently, here's what worked for me. Allstate - with an agent in Cleveland, TN. Comprehensive and Collision, settlement value $40k. Premium ~$800/yr. Attached are the limits, and a picture of the rig for gawking.

The same, I have Progressive as well.

I also have AAA RV 200-mile towing.
