I'm with al415, We too opted for the Blue Ridge Overland bag and very happy with it - Made of tough vinyl-coated polyester truck tarp so stuff stays dry in poor weather. It's very well made, and if you want more room they also offer an XL version.
I don't have Blue Ridge's "Overland bag, but I do have some of their other gear. IMO the best made camping gear (first aid kit, kitchen kit, stove bag) that I own.

What I like about my homemade bag is I designed it to hold two 5 gal buckets (one is my porta john) with a lot of room to spare on top of the buckets for trash. I also can hang other rafting bags off it. Yeah it cost a couple hundred to have an upholstery shop make it but it sits is full sun all day and I don't have to worry about it. I've even used it to haul wood.

I applied UV protectant to my latest Trasharoo in the hopes it will last more than a couple summer seasons but it's too early to tell yet. Additionally, I think it was Rally Panam who advised me to remove it when not in use which I've started doing too. So far, so good.
Another vote for the Blue Ridge Overland tire bag - I have the large model and it’s spent almost two years and probably more than 50K KMs and it’s dusty - no fade, no damage, no wear really. And I don’t baby this thing.
One of its key use is to store our firewood when headed into the backcountry. Filled to the brim and it doesn’t seem to have any issues.
I went with this one after my trasharoo got shredded by a bear in the middle of the night this past summer season...relentless sucker too. It's well priced and well made. Smaller than a trasharoo but it does a good job.

Trasharoo #1, installed September 2016 when the van was new (and the Trasharoo was black):
Trasharoo #2, installed (today) April 2022:
I read through this thread, I researched the options, I looked at what was still a serviceable, though well-worn unit, and I decided that for $50 I couldn't go wrong.
Quick question: is any of these bags eventually able to protect the trash from racoons? Or you still got to watch out?
Small critters will most probably not get there, but racoons…?!

Racoons are not only inquisitive, they are also intelligent = deductive reasoning = can get into almost anything (or at least leave behind evidence of their attempt). You'd probably need a hard case of sorts to be really secure.

I'm more worried about bears. I do have a couple bear proof containers I shove in my trash pack for the smelly garbage that animals mainly go after and I always leave the bumper bag wide open at night so a bear (or other critter) doesn't rip it open to see what's in there.
