I know,I know. Snow is supposed to hit us again here on Monday but we're headed to Moab tomorrow, it's supposed to be a toasty 50 degrees!

Battery separator switch
I got tired of having to clip on a jumper wire to manually activate the battery separator every time my engine battery went completely flat (don't ask), so I decided to install a little switch.
Manually triggering the separator isn't necessary unless your engine battery voltage is very low. (My battery separator is a "Sure Power" Model 1315.)

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
Replaced the ICP (7.3 diesel, injector control pressure) sensor. Despite what the engine manual says, it is not as simple as just removing the air filter and intake. This is a van, so it also involves removing the power steering pump. But now it's done, runs great, no more codes, and I'm back in business.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
Replaced the S/N Plate on the Rock Crawler Trailer.
The original Plate was paper behind plexiglass. It was getting discolored from moisture. Not to mention that SMB made it with the wrong tire size listed. The new plate is permanantly printed on Stainless Steel.
The old S/N Plate

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
Swapped out my front Hella 500's fog lights 50W bulbs for some Xenon H3 100W bulbs. They are a direct plug and play swap. Much brighter during the day so will see at night. Hopefully this will improve night vision since the Fog lights are kind of lame from the factory. This is where I got them and these are the ones I got.

Also took off the front differential cover to change the fluid. The hardest part was getting the cover off. Recommended changing fluid every 20K. The oil was needing to be changed (dirty) and glad I did it. Apparently either it never had a breather tube or mine went missing but it started spurting up some oil when engaged in 4x4. This also could mean water or whatever could have gotten into the differential. I added a tube to it and routed it up into the engine compartment. This is what made me want to get into the differential to make sure everything was ok and it was. No water or dirt inside and only minimal oil loss.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
Considering it was 10 degrees yesterday morning at SMB North, I limited things to driving our new-to-us SMB home
2004 Ford 2wd RB with 6.0 diesel, penthouse and a RB32 layout (similar to RB33 without the fridge). More pix are in my gallery. I am now gleaning this topic and the 10 best/worst topics to develop a wanna-do list. Scan gauge, LEDs and a coolant filter are early front runners
