Here's an update.....

HighcountryMike stopped by yesterday and we replaced the rear rotors, pads and parking brake shoes.

During installation we adjusted the star adjusters to just binding on the drums then backed off around 2 clicks.

We again bedded them in by coasting slowly going forward and in reverse, maybe 5-6 times applying the e-brake when coasting and observing the distance it took to stop the van.

The stopping power improved a lot by the time we were done with the bedding in process and would hold the van on my street which has a moderate slope.

It wouldn't hold on another nearby street that is a very steep grade.

The pedal is going to just about full travel and I'm thinking a new (or shorter) cable will improve performance even further.

I laid under the van brainstorming a few ideas to take up cable slack....still thinking......
