Hi Larry.

Hopefully NW Overland Expo is a little cooler than the 102-105f that is was last year.

Had a great time & loads of other Sportsmobiles there. Learnt a lot about my vehicle and others too. Was a great start to my SMB journey. My vehicle is now in New Zealand for conversion to Right Hand Drive, compulsory to get into Australia. Must comply to Australian Design Rules = ADR.

CHEERS.

Thanks for the pics Tien. I saw those years ago (maybe a different manufacturer, don't remember) and liked them but found it easy enough to build my own. Anyway, looks like they're about $100 so I'm weighing whether or not it's worth 100 in time and materials to build another or just buy one.

One question, perhaps after some time has passed. Does stuff fall through the front between the windshield and console easily? It looks like there's some space there. The advantage I see to my homebuild, which was a copy of the SMB one, was that it fits flat to the headliner in the front so nothing rattles it's way between. Also easier to hide wires I guess. Anyway, let us know how it's working after you've done some offroading.

Tien, It turns out I have the same shelf. You will probably end up wanting to add in the little clips that hold up the inboard sides of the sun visors. I have no idea why they didn't install two holes for these. And to answer 86Scottys question, yes stuff can fall out the front side of the shelf, normally when on bumpy dirt roads, but the usefullness far outweighs the small issues.

What did you do to your SMB today?

Yes, plan is to take the factory clips and relocate them. Having the visor hanging down a tad bit bothers the sh*t out of me. As for stuffs falling out, I plan on bolting my communicating equipments, switch panels, and only storing light soft articles up there.

Finished my air tank/Spod project. The digital air zenith gage shows starting battery voltage on startup and then switches over to displaying air pressure. Added another analong air gage at the existing bulkhead fitting and ran another line to the rear bumper.

The only issue after swapping over all the accessory wiring to the sPOD is the diesel high idle switch no longer works. Pretty sure I've got the right wire but it's not power and it's not a ground. I'm not entirely sure how it's wired into the system. Does anyone know whether it's just a signal to the PCM or some sort of electronic solenoid?
