Tried - unsuccessfully - to fix the Kenwood CMOS-200 backup camera on my van. Somehow got water/condensation inside the camera housing over the winter (lots of snow...). Took it all apart, cleaned most of it out, but the main camera lens is "sealed" and I can't get inside it to dry it out. Grrrr. Not only are these things $150 +/-, but the though of redoing all the wiring does not make me happy. The Kenwood unit had one very tiny and thin gasket between the two halves of the camera unit. Can't believe such an expensive component was sealed so poorly. Anyone have an old CMOS-200 or 300 laying around that they want to sell? All I need is the outside camera unit.
Also took it in for a much-needed alignment today. Drives great now! I also heard a horrible rattling noise while out driving yesterday. Hoped it was just a loose heat shield, and thankfully that's what it was. Cost to remove: zero. Cheapest loud mechanical noise I've ever had to fix in the van
