Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

The PO of my rig removed the on board water system. Have been running without runnin water for the past four years. This year is different. Have installed a new 10 gallon system. It appears the the old system was entirely under the sink with a much smaller tank.

Installed the new tank under the passenger side dinette seat. Ran the drain and vent out through the floor through a new hole. Connected the water fill line to a new hose connection in the same location as the old one.

The pump is located under the sink. The wiring and switch from the original pump was still there so the hookup was easy. Bought a new faucet and braided connecting hose.

I have a bit more tweaks to make but it works as is which is fine for now.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Had some leftover window screen material so decided to make some screens for the front doors.

Uses a magnet on the outside of he doors at the bottom of the screen. Uses stick on Velcro tabs on the inside edge of the door frame. The screen wraps around the door and over the door gasket. With the door closed the top and sides of the screen are locked in place.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Yesterday was spent cleaning up the wiring near the parking brake. The worst piece was the wiring from the up fitter harness to the driving/fog light switches. No relays! Power is fed from there through the up fitter harness to the engine bay and bumper. Right now I've just removed everything (including the uninsulated spade terminals with battery voltage on the switches) and will use the 2 up fitter wires to switch relays running off the alternator to power the driving and fog lights.

Also cleaned up the wiring to the compass mirror, trailer brake controller, fitted a new brake controller, etc. A lot neater now.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Also fitted a permanent van battery charger which is plugged into the 110v outlet near the fridge/B pillar, ran the 12v cables under the entry step and to the upfitter 12v direction battery connection in the footwell. So when I am on the hook, the van battery gets charged too.

Shortened the PH chains by 2 links today, also following Larrie's video: http://vimeo.com/61317178

Took longer to set up the bracing than to do both sides!

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

A while back I went to Aluminess & had them install a front hitch, a shelf in the Deluxe box & an Expedition Kit:

front hitch

While there Aluminess re-did the support bracket on the Deluxe box that stiffens it for mounting bikes on top. Apparently, the way Sportsmobile did it wasn't the best so they corrected this free of charge. Great customer service there at Aluminess.

They moved the support bracket inside the box

and ran the mounting screws through the swing arm

There are a few holes from where the support bracket was mounted that they plugged up with screws so they don't leak.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

I have the Renuel rear bumper and did not like the chrome diamond plate on the ends. I have had good luck with Plastic dip and figured I would give it a shot. What to you think? I am planning on adding a passenger swing out later and will have the whole thing powder coated black after that.
