Flushed out the winter antifreeze with fresh water, then added bleach; will allow the bleach to sit in the system until tomorrow afternoon, then flush with fresh water and top off for a trip this weekend!

Just finished putting on 3 more pop out windows, so now I have every window with a pop out frame. I feel like I am in some sort of club now ha ha!

Have you posted a "How To" thread yet?
It might already be out there, but I have always wondered what it takes. Where did you get your parts? Glass?

I haven't, but BrianW did (http://www.sportsmobileforum.com/for...uts-10090.html) and I used that thread to help me out. It's pretty simple, just takes a lot of cleaning.

The parts for my van were found at a local pick and pull.

Went ahead and finally replaced my faded and cracked Sportsmobile 4x4 decal on the drivers side. I did the pass last fall but wasn't all that fired up to do the other seeing how much of a pain it was even with a heat gun. 3M eraser wheel to the rescue! 2 mins all said and done!

Also spent a few hrs today and installed the UJOR floating airbags that i ordered up from Chris the other week. Pretty slick setup, excited to help out the saggy butt when the is fully loaded. Road report and pics in next day or so...

Today, I first went to meet up with 1der to get my "Door Claw". Hell yeah!

Then I went over to rallypanam's house to rid my van of the "Grandpa" running boards. They came off easier than we expected.

While I was putting on my coveralls and PPE, rallypanam was putting on his shorts and flip flops...

I cut myself pretty bad. I thought I might bleed out, but I decided to keep going...

Finally got rid of the running boards! Can't believe retailers still sell those things for $750.

I hacksawed them apart, just in case I want to make some budget fender flares like DerPo did. We'll see.

Just happy to be running-board-less today.

Thanks to rallypanam and 1der for their help today.

Jsweezy, I hope to join your club soon. I just got all the donor frames from the salvage yard for my 40 barn door and the two rear windows. With U-Pick Parts now closed in Sun Valley, Pick Your Part is the only self serve salvage yard in the SFV that I know of, and there just is not a bunch of donor stuff that applies to these vans. Sealed beam headlight hardware and now the pop out window hardware has been it. But, I have to admit, the fact that they were only available back in 92-95 seemed to help, though there were 3 donors there that had the earlier version of a pop out window where the top of the glass has no holes, and sits in a stainless channel, and the latch has only two screws.

I can remember the days when I could head in there and come out with a clean set of running boards for my 1954 Chevy PU!! Those were the days!

EDIT: BrianW's How-To thread is excellent! My only surprise at the yard was the Robertson #3 bit I needed to remove the bolts that hold the top of the glass (for the pop-out drivers side window I needed to remove for the missing rear window glass retention bolts and latch).

I watched mine drive out of the driveway for the last time. Sad day. Rusty will see lots of new adventures in South America with Slacker though. Hopefully he'll keep us updated.
