What did you do to your SMB today?

Depends on where you use it. Worked fine on the joint at the front of this arm that goes from the front axle to the frame

Coated the bottom of my SMB with fluid film. Used a sprayer hooked up to my shop compressor. Laid on a creeper with a shop light and an hour later I had a nice coat of oil all over myself. Even got some on the van. Now I'll have to wait to see how it holds up. Made everything look shiny wet

This is next. Bought these lights from foxtail lights.com. Came in the mail super fast. Only $39 with shipping. Thought about mounting oval ones to the sides of the doors, but those would be higher and harder to mount. Planing on wiring them to the trailer hookup. Any tips?

Link to the lights I bought. Flush mount. 1 3/4" hole for wiring and 3 small holes for mounting holes will be all they need

Tie them into the brake lights, they're right there, stop turn, everything you need.

Also when you brake lights are out put aluminum tape over the body holes inside!

Noticed that the steering felt slugish at low RPM and was getting too much feedback in the steering wheel - installed a new (rebuilt) Power Steering Pump and corrected the problem. I'm keeping the core and sending it in to PSC to get the volume and pressure bumped up and then putting it back in for what I think will be even better performance.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

i adjusted/tightened and added some shims to the cross bars of my roof/ladder rack which almost 100% eliminated a nasty vibration at highway speeds.

i also adjusted the hinges and added some foam to the door in my cage, hoping that eliminates the other annoying rattle i experience at highway speeds. have not test driven it yet.

I've wondered about that stuff. Is it at all useful to apply over well-used and already rusty metal? No way I could get back to bare metal under the van, but even if I can slow some corrosion down it might be worth it.

And BTW, do you now find coyotes and wolves find you more attractive?

Don't let Fluid Film get on your brake rotors

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

New tires plus a full service with new belt pulleys and tensioner plus brakes and a vacuum pump.

Tires stared to chunk on the last trip so it was time and the belt was getting rubber build up on the pulleys and back of the belt so it was time and while they did that and seeing I'm just over 100k on the clock the vacuum pump was a piece of mind fix and it does have a more positive pedal now.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

I finally got around to putting bedliner, Monstaliner, over my aging penthouse roof. It had developed some crazing and was getting UV damage on the gelcoat, even though I cover it while not in use (2001 van, so I can't complain).

Thread here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=10021

I'd recommend it. Especially for those of you who need something besides black (mine's white...maybe I should have done a crazy color up there, but it worked).
