Sorry for the extremely slow response... All of the wood edges are rounded over and I used a little heat and stretching technics. I have done a lot of crazy venal work in the past.

A lot has happened since my previous updates... Got busy with life and such then had three other vans that let me go wonder and play. One bit of advice, don't buy another van to use while you build your other one

The interior is pretty much finished at this point. I finished up all of the walls, custom cabinets, electrical, plumbing and so on.

There will be more pictures fairly soon with some more details.

Luckily my work let my build this at the shop during my off time. Thanks to my work and the crew for putting up with all of the "my Van" stuff

Here are a few more pictures on the build. I am feeling very good with how it turned out. I only have a few small things to wrap up. Curtains, cargo door panels, and maybe some organizers for the drawers. Well, there is also finishing that 4X4 part, adding some Aluminess bits, and under floor storage...

I did do most of the build myself, but it was not with out the help of my fellow co-workers at Van Haus, and ultimately Erik the owner of Van Haus for letting me. Erik and the crew had to put up with me talking non stop about the build and helping me along the way getting things done that needed more that one persons hands or ideas. Thanks again guys!

A little back story... I am not a newb when it comes to the world of vans and after owning about 30 of them mostly VWs, a few Econolines (two SMBs), and a Sprinter (my ladies van and yes, we both have vans). Not to mention, building, restoring, 4x4 converting vans for a bunch of years for customers. I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted in a custom build for myself. Hopefully I will get to use the heck out of this van! Already dreaming about some pretty crazy trips.

Specs:

Scheel-Mann seating
Permanent sleeping platform with Full size bed
Closet system next to bed
Pass-thru below bed for inside surfboard storage (I have had six in there)
Fully sound deadened and insulated including full dash removal
U-joint roof rack

Onboard cooking and water (yes, I cook in my van)
Dometic propane stove
20 gallons fresh water with city port and gravity feed fill
Isotherm refrigerator
Plenty of storage in kitchen area
Lagun table system for eating, kitchen prep, computer table
Custom countertop by Jodie Royak in San Diego, CNC cut at Van Haus

Plenty of lighting options
Second "house" stereo
Solar 365w LG high voltage commercial panel
Xantrex 2000w inverter/charger
DC to DC charger for house batteries
200ah Lithium (dual 100ah batteries)
Lots of Bluesea parts...
USB and 12V ports all over
Rear spray port for shower or gear washing

Espar/Eberspacher D2 Diesel furnace
Elwell AC runs off shore power (it is for the dog)

Justin, you should feel good about how your van turned out, VERY good. You have a beautiful looking rig there.

I have the ac unit installed in the rear passenger side corner. It is vented to the outside through the floor with a cover system under the van. The unit seems to be a modified window style unit in a cooler and floor venting. It works well so far. The controller in next to my furnace controller in the lower part of the that picture.
