Re: Swiss van for the time in the US

So Andrew, I thought you were going to put some kind of top on your van. No?
Looks good...hope to see you again soon with your new van. BTW is there going to be a big cab over camper accompanying you? Tell him he can still show up and we'll all pretend it's a SMB

Re: Swiss van for the time in the US

Andrew,

It's looking very nice. What did you use for your wall panel material? and what insulation did you use for the walls? for the covered aft side windows?

Thanks,
GreyDawg

Re: Swiss van for the time in the US

Greydawg,

I used plastic panels that I thermoformed to match the van side and the insulation is Low-E kind of refletics but with foam with small air bubbles, insulates well and reduces the noise.

Re: Swiss van for the time in the US

Andrew,

The walls came out very nicely - could you give some details - what was the material you used - how did you form it - special equipment - anything??? Given the lack of regular surfaces in our vans this appears to be a great solution!

Thanks,
Dave

Re: Swiss van for the time in the US

Andrew,

A couple of other places to check out while you are in the southwest:

- Chaco Canyon in New Mexico, near Arizona border - http://www.nps.gov/chcu/index.htm

- Canyon de Chelly in Arizona, near New Mexico border - http://www.nps.gov/cach/index.htm

Chaco Canyon is one that should not be missed. The technology they had will fascinate you.
