From where did you obtain the different part number? Does Ford show the 6C24 number as once upon a time fitting your vehicle?
The prefix numbers tend to designate the year and chassis/model of vehicle the part supposedly properly fits, as in a direct plug-n-play replacement. Ford has been known to superseded part numbers that might appear on a part so that might be the case here.
Looking on Ford Parts Giant 6C24-7C078-AA comes back as "part not found" but 4C2Z-7C078-AA does come back as a good part number that's obsolete today. I suspect that first number is an engineering designation and for us mere mortals it cannot be correlated to an actual part number.
