Re: How did you hear about Sportsmobile Forum?

Well, I am new to this site & just typed in SportsMobile forums in google. I have been checking them out for over 15 years & drooling for same length of time. We don't make a lot of money, but I have decided that I am willing to work some extra years to POSSIBLY get one. NOW, if I can just convince my wife that she ALSO should work a few extra years, cause we NEED one of these for retirement purposes, it would be paid for MUCH faster. LOL

Current vehicle is a 2008 Power Wagon,6-speed manual G-56 trans, with a LOT of little mods. Awsome truck. Want the same capabilities but want to sleep in it as well. SportsMobiles fit the bill. Learning from reading on here. I have been off-roading in one way or another since I was 12, & am now 46. We tow a 30' ToyHauler w/atv & dirtbike. Would like to downsize, but keep the off-road capabilities of our Power Wagon.

Re: How did you hear about Sportsmobile Forum?

Welcome to the Forum! IMHO I don't think you need a lot a of $$$ to own an SMB, I should know cause we don't have a lot Thats what so great about these rigs. You can write them off as a second home, as an RV, yet you can still use them around town to do errands, etc, like regular big SUV. Also you can save a lot of $$$ buying used.

A way to convince your beter half is either taking her the to factory for a tour or seing one in person. We are from Southern CA. Long Beach area, you are more than welome to see ours if you live close by. Good luck

On Metacrawler looking for info. on used Sportsmobiles. Lurking long time but we've decided to buy a used SM unit in Feb. of 2010. Previous owners of 2 VW Westfalias 1972 & 1986. Now own diesel 4x4 PU & camper but miss the great things about a van camper.
