Greetings -- Does anyone out there have 2002 E350 - from Fresno build - that has an "Avital" security system installed - or know about this particular security system configuration and operation - maybe some photos of the "brain" and install position under the hood of the brain ? Need some assistance asap ! PM me if you would - Thanks !
We’ll dirtbag thieves are not known to be very smart but since the Castle Doctrine applies to your occupied vehicle, you would be literally betting your life to enter a vehicle with the radio playing on the assumption of keys left in a unoccupied vehicle…the next sound you hear could be your last if the vehicle is occupied. Other than on my own property, when my van is parked somewhere I’d say at least 50-60% of the time one person alone (wife or self) is in it with the radio on. There is a 22 in front drink holder and 9mm in the rear of the van.
I’d still say leaving the radio on is a decent security measure, cheap enough and no downside.
If that notion soothes you it's good by me---I have a massively different POV regarding weapon usage. I'll refrain from making more comments about your approach.

That's a great idea UNTIL they steal your damned jack!

Yea, it’s been moved inside, but it wouldn’t be a big loss, since it’s from Harborfreight. My 30 year old craftsman floor jack is superior in every way. I like it so much that when I bought it I welded my name and drivers license number on the side
While I appreciate this is somewhat basic I think they offer at least a hindrance to any would-be intruder.
When I part up I link the passenger side doors and exit on the driver's side. When parked overnight I link all doors and have an additional shackle on the rear doors. It takes seconds to unclip from inside but is difficult while leaning in a broken window. Very easy to make and cheap.
