The bushing and the washer are machined together rather than individual pieces. John would spend time sizing the bushings which was very time consuming. When I took over we had the bushings cut from tube but then had to deburr the cuts. This way the pieces are machined with tighter tolerance and are ready for anodizing. It also helps with assembly as one of the nylon washers would tend to get trapped between the beveled washer and the bushing.
