Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

It's great to know of shops outside your home area that will work on SMB's
but at first I thought of the funniest pic thread

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Added 4 Yakima Windjammers to the new Aluminess rack to combat a hum I was experiencing between 55-65mph.

Now you can't even tell the rack is up there from a windnoise perspective, my mpg won't suffer like a fairing, and the windjammers aren't noticeable at all.

Here's the link if anyone is interested.

What did you do to your SMB today?

Made progress on my rear door storage box and pulling power and control wire for the solar system.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Finally broke down and installed a Propane tank. Had em put it under the back behind the
rear axle along the frame. I can just see the valve and gauge but it looks ok mainly because
the ladder blocks some of the view. At least I don't have to pack as much propane in my
storage box.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Should be "What did my mechanic do to my SMB today?"

1. Installed my new (to me) EGT gauge. Thanks again Tom. It works great.

2. Removed the dead air compressor and pressure tank from behind the rear axle.
PO installed it without a covering in about the worst place possible. I'm going with
a DIY power tank solution for airing up. I'll post a note about the CO2 tank after
all the parts arrive.

What did you do to your SMB today?

Added a neat, portable and very bright-- unlike me--LED light over the door cabinet's work surface for grilling at night.

The light--from Lowes--is held in place by a magnet, so it's removable to use as a flashlight. It also pivots on its mount to help aiming.

I bought one for the rear too.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

I lubed my u-joints. The notable bit, is that it was trivial this time. Since there is no way to clip onto the nipples in there, I've been using a needle nozzle. What's new this time is a pneumatic grease gun.

The previous time was an frustrating 45 minutes with two people under the van. This time I was done in 5 minutes, and the most arduous part we crawling under the van. Crawling under there is not that bad even, plenty of room. More room than under a car up on jack stands.

A reasonable alternative might be a normal gun with a really long hose so only one person needs to be under the van, and the other can pump from next to it when asked to.
