Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

It's been a busy few weeks getting ready for the fall season of SMBing. Installed an ARB air compressor in place of the troublesome ExtremeAire the van came with. Fit perfectly, plus I rigged up a cool air intake system for it so it's no longer using hot, engine/transfer case air to run. Also added a heavy duty dust filter on it and for the intake of my Espar D4.

Put the air bags back on the rear after Deaver springs took them off. Better handling around corners now and to my surprise did not compromise the ride over speed bumps at all with 35lbs of air in em. Even 50lbs in them, the ride is better than the old setup.

Not sure which air bags you got but mine says for large vehicles to keep at least 50psi in there.

50? Are you sure? Mine say minimum of 5 pounds. My max pressure is at 60.

Aired down and up today, the ARB dual compressor is a huge improvement: 2min 20sec per tire to fill 35 to 65psi.

Air lift springs is what I have.

100psi max. Just looked at the label.

Filled them up last week. 60psi each side.

What did you do to your SMB today?

This forum is like a little voice that says "oh yes you need that. See how happy the others are with it? You must get it....." Now I have a clarion nx602, backup camera, amp, new speakers, and a drop down screen covering the storage up front under the top. Thanks people...... I needed that.

Thanks for the real life test info on the ARB. Is this the ARB model you installed?

I've been looking at the portable version of the CKMTA12. I'd like to be able to move it from vehicle to vehicle. Link to the portable model I'd like Santa to bring me for Christmas.

Zeta, what dust filter did you use for the Espar?

Espar dust filters from Lubrication Specialists. Bought two, one for the ARB.

Here's a quick pick of the ARB live from The Neck.
