Re: 2013 E350 New Build

I got the windows tinted today and the clear 3M bra installed. I think it turned out really good. It is dark and the van is a sloppy mess from the roads so I'l try to post pictures tomorrow.

I ran it over the scales on the way home. My empty build came in at 7890 with just the awning left to put on it. The front axle was 4220 and the rear at 3670. It will be interesting to weigh again after loading it up with all my gear and toys. Looks like I have room, weight wise, to load up a lot.

Re: 2013 E350 New Build

Hopefully not too late of another use for the 3M bra material........

It might be a good idea wrapping the rocker panels, wheel openings and lower rear body sides (aft wheels) in order to reduce rock chips etc which eventually contribute to rust? The entire wheel opening could also be done, extending the wrap to cover the body side sheet metal far enough underneath to essentially encapsulate the entire painted areas.

Since your van is new now would be the time to do this----it might pay huge dividends in the longer term.

3M makes incredibly great products for so many aspects of vehicle protection----not to mention the million or so other products they offer too!

Re: 2013 E350 New Build

Sorry it's been awhile since an update. I've been busy trying to get things organized so I can leave for the winter.
The van is done!!!!! Except I'm still waiting to get the folding mattress and one other cushion. Hope to receive it within the next week.

I'm putting one more Thule box on the rack right in front of the one that's there.

I'm still blown away by how fast, and without sacrificing quality, you made your own conversion. Get out and enjoy it!

Sweet! I think you've got the new indoor record for build time.......

Can you share more info on the bed supports? They look interesting.

I am also amazed at how fast you rig came together. Van back from Quigley on 11/1 and ready to rock and roll on 12/30. Very impressive and a beautiful inside. Congratulations.
