I just wanted to say hello. My name is Max and I also live in Santa Barbara. I recently bought a 2003 Sportsmobile E350RB with the 7.3 Diesel. Slowly learning how to drive and care for it. I will visit Marborg and get my truck weighed. Thank you for the information. Happy new year.

When I weighed front and rear many years ago I was roughly 5,000 front and 5,500 rear. In 2020 when I thought I was on my way to Argentina until COVID had other plans for me, I was 5300 kg (11,685 lbs) as weighed to get on the ferry to Mazatlan. That kind of shocked me.

On my way back up from Guatemala to Veracruz, MX I had two additional people, a dog, and their gear. I'm guessing I was just north of 12,000 lbs then.

My van needs to go on a diet.

Let me know how that goes for you Phil - I'd like to shed 2K lbs off mine as well, just cant seem to identify what/where the 'excess' is!
I took a (futile) stab at this about a year ago, and the only piece of equipment that actually made it off the Van was the high Lift jack...Had an Al Bundy moment, motivating me to immediately filled the void with a Yeti full of adult beverages (good trade-off IMHO)

Yep, nothing overly obvious. My basement garage on the van was pretty full of tools for that trip. I've maybe shed 20lbs of that leaving only 1980 lbs to hit your 2000 lb target.

I removed my water heater that I never used but replaced it with ~11 gallon water tank which I may be able to get 10 gallons into. When I don't have water in it I'm ahead, but when it is full at 84 lbs I'm at a dead wash compared to ~84 lbs for the full water heater.

I think I've come to the conclusion it simply is what it is. A complete interior redo could net some weight savings I think but I'm a long way off from ever tackling that.

All-in-all, it handles quite well for the pig that it is so I have chosen to embrace it.

ID:	42323Hi I am just here to geek out on my original owner's manual from 2001, passed to me by the brief but rather careless second owner. Here it is from the horse's mouth. We had no external additions that I know of except a Thule rack that looks like it could be from 2001 but probably only weighs 30 pounds.

Maybe not a super useful data point, but my completely stock 2013 RB XLT passenger van weighed in at 3360 F / 3280 R for a total of 6640 lbs total.

That was with myself sitting in the driver seat and a full tank of gas.

I will report back after the UJOR 4x4 conversion + add-ons.
