My SMB is a 95 too...the scangauage went into the Chateau!

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

The thought of rigid overhead cabinets gives me a headache but camping with a family of 5 in a Sprinter with penthouse is a constant struggle to keep organized.
I came up with this compromise.

MountainSmith Cubes suspended from two runs of L-track. Everybody has their own cube plus one for coats or other soft gear.

I need to order more ring anchors to hang the rest of the cubes.

Replaced my house battery. Didn't drop it on my head or lose any fingers. Feeling very accomplished.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Bought it, drove the previous owner to meet his daughter. Really excited about our first camping trip. Have the old plastic caps, looking at wheels tonight and other mods. Might even head to Portland this weekend to pick up a boat and hull it back. Crack the top and spend the night at a friends. Who knows!!

Bummer, Len! Do you know if that was a 4L60e or 4L80e? How many miles did you end up getting out of it? I have surprisingly gotten 310k (and still going) out of the 4L80e in my work truck.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Tried - unsuccessfully - to fix the Kenwood CMOS-200 backup camera on my van. Somehow got water/condensation inside the camera housing over the winter (lots of snow...). Took it all apart, cleaned most of it out, but the main camera lens is "sealed" and I can't get inside it to dry it out. Grrrr. Not only are these things $150 +/-, but the though of redoing all the wiring does not make me happy. The Kenwood unit had one very tiny and thin gasket between the two halves of the camera unit. Can't believe such an expensive component was sealed so poorly. Anyone have an old CMOS-200 or 300 laying around that they want to sell? All I need is the outside camera unit.

Also took it in for a much-needed alignment today. Drives great now! I also heard a horrible rattling noise while out driving yesterday. Hoped it was just a loose heat shield, and thankfully that's what it was. Cost to remove: zero. Cheapest loud mechanical noise I've ever had to fix in the van

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

My van is Chevrolet Express 2500 with a 6L80E transmission. The trans was replaced at 134,000 miles. In hind sight I think 4th 'gear' started to fail 20k miles ago. It really did not have a hard life but still died young.
