Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

I have yet to find anything that says they are illegal, but open to anyone in the know to chime in.

After looking at it, I'm going to raise by about a foot so that most normal cars or even non-lifted trucks should go under them should they decide to violate the rear of my van.

I believe the only instance the exterior propane bombs might be illegal would be in a tunnel under a body of water, like the Chesapeake Bay Bridge tunnel or the Baltimore harbor tunnel.

Actually, just about all propane tanks are illegal in those tunnels, not just external.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

With the battery project finished I finally cleaned out the van and test installed the car-seats, which makes the van the go-to kid hauler while the Volvo is in the shop.

Rear facing on the bench is a minor nightmare- the latch straps are too long and the only reasonable loading will be from the removed bed area behind the seat, as there is not much side room to strap the babies in. The seats are also tough to get in rear facing, as the tightening straps are made to be pulled sideways- fine for the first seat, but a tight fit for the second. With having to remove and replace to have the bed, I'm looking forward to trying the forward facing install because I think everything will be easier.

Still, it makes quad captains with LATCH look pretty good...

Added 12"x2" strips of 3M grip tape to the Aluminess Roof Rack. Tired of slipping and sliding when the rack is wet and the solar panels need cleaning.

I was just mentioning to my GF recently how long will it be before we see "solar panel cleaning" trucks driving down the freeway, here in So Cal we have the ubiquitous pool guys, mobile doggy wash and even trash can cleaner services (I haven't quite figured this one out......We don't even own the trash cans...)
