What did you do to your SMB today?

Today I took a stroll on the beach. It's been a long while since I have owned a 4wd. Felt good.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

A while back, my Scangauge died. I bought a new Scangauge. It didn't work in the SMB either, but it did work on both of our other vehicles. Today (duh), I checked the fuse (20A #23 under the steering wheel), and sure enough, it was blown. I changed the fuse. The old Scangauge still does not work, but the new one does. So, I'm back in business, but has anyone ever heard of a Scanguage short-circuiting and taking out a fuse? It stopped working after several weeks of sitting on the dash in the summer sun - think Oregon coast, not SoCal or Arizona.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Adjusted my manual PH top. I used a regular strap cinch with a ratchet....... DO NOT DO THIS! Use a come along or some seriously heavy duty stuff. It bent the metal on my basic motorcycle cinch strap. I almost had to cut the strap off to get it off under tension! Not a safe thing since that spring has some serious tension on it. I repeat use a come along!

I was able to shorten the chain one link which makes the PH so much easier to open now. Worth the time and effort for sure..... just use proper equipment since it can be very dangerous.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?

Changed the Atlas II transfer case fluid (recommended every 20k). Was pretty straight forward and easy relatively with the right tools. Also took apart the top spindle on the transfer case since I still have slight seepage here of oil. I pounded it almost all out to expose the bearings in the Atlas. I only found one rubber O-ring on each side and I had already replaced the problematic side so cleaned it up and put it back together.

Also installed the remote entry keypad and reprogrammed the van to accept it and gave her a bath.

Finally put some bushwackers on the Decepticon. Picks tomorrow.

Also my buddy and I started on the rebuild of the interior. Shelves together and sanded, ready for spray. Total magician with a saw, he is.

Flushed the antifreeze out of the water lines and filled the tank. Also replaced the broken Fiamma awning parts. Not too bad, it was a nice warm day here!

Saline, the ground hog didn't see its shadow? Winter hasn't ended yet in the PNW
