Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
MadScience,
How much work was that in the end? This is hard to answer, do you want time spent?
It took a while to get all the parts and plans together but its not hard work but it did take a while all added up.
I could do it in half the time now that I have done it once.
The 25 gallon tank is a very tight fit and added quite a bit of time to the job.
I did not install the skid system exactly the way it was designed but even then there is some cutting and drilling needed.
Its best to have at least ramps or a jack and stands.
If you want more details let me know, I have part numbers for the tank and such.
I took a bunch of pictures like I always do and someday I plan to post someday.

No thats another thing that took extra time,
I hid everything, tank water fill, city water inlet and hose tap outlet.
I am planning a sink soon as well.
Suzann and I are trying very hard to not cut any holes into the body that can be seen.
Someday I want to build bumpers that will hold all of the water and air connections but for now out of site is good.

I think that answers my question as to whether or not I'm willing to add that to my todo list for this summer. I doubt I'd be able to spend more than two or three evenings on it, so this may be more stress than I can take at the moment.

Yeah, but you'd miss out on all the fun of solving unsolved problems.

I'll watch for it to pop up when you do. No need to rush on my account though, I have my hands full with both work and hobby projects at the moment.

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
I just bought my first SMB. It is 2wd 1998 chevy 5.7 . I aspire to own a 7.3 4x4, but I will start here until I can afford a more serious backcountry rig.
I dis asembled most of the interior and electrics while troubleshooting ,only to discover that my inverter switch wont work if the batteries are completely dead. duh I then (in another brilliant hasty act had to take apart the fridge cabinet to get to the ac to troubleshoot before I found out about the switch by the drivers door. Needless to say I bought this from a dealer who was not able to teach me anything about the machine. haha. So finally, I move on and I replaced both of my generator batteries with two yellow top optimas, fixed a bunch of light bulbs, fixed the oscillating fan, I hid an extension cord under some plastic to get ac power to the cockpit. I bought wood to make a bed extension and to create a new dinette table . My dinette table is too wide and feels really cramped. My favorite thing I accomplished today was one of the easiest. I drilled four holes in the door to my tv cabinet strategically and placed small bungees in the hole in order to hold my ipad. It looks great and it works great and didnt cost a dime. It made for a great tv watching area and I can use my bluetooth keyboard to surf the internet.
I am enjoying the machine so far and I cant wait for my first adventure.

Nasa13 ,
Congratulations on your new journey into the world of SportsMobiles and all that they bring ! It would seem that you have the spirit of our little family with the great idea for the I Pad mount .

Re: What did you do to your SMB today?
Repaired (for the 2nd time) a broken Alumniness swing-arm bracket. Occurred while I backed into a branch (OK a small tree) during a tight maneuver. This time I had the welder add a buttress plate on to the latch bracket.
