It's an order of magnitude more than a gajillion, but less than a bazillion.

I can't imagine it, but man is it fun to think about. Driving tractor trailers shows me daily the unbelievable joy of torque but still I don't want to maintain a diesel.

That's why I wish Ford would offer an EcoBoost option in the E-series cutaway! All the torque, more HP, no worries about $12,000 fuel pump replacements.

I was actually thinking this morning that that a V12 Quad-turbo, built by mating two 2.7L EcoBoost motors, would sure make exciting power-plant in a van.... 650 HP, 700 ft-lbs of torque on regular unleaded with Ford's conservative tuning. Should be able to bump both number up by about 200 with more aggressive programming.

An EcoBoost Eseries is happening sometime in my future. I don't know when or who's paying for it yet but it is going to happen. I think it's one of the coolest powerplants you can swap into a van.

An EcoBoost E-series would bring you instant fame on Jalopnik! Make sure you read the comments... Even Mike Levine is on board:

The great cross member rebuild of 2016...that's the project for this weekend. So glad I have a spare frame parked alongside the shop to rob parts off of (or cut sections out of).

I started with this on the back side of the engine cross member:

and after a little cutting, grinding, welding, more grinding and sanding, we have this:

Now the front side... before:

And now about 50% complete (lots of holes to fill and a flange to build):

I ordered a bunch of laser cutting including parts to reinforce the cross member and gusset the areas where the engine mounts will go. Should have all this wrapped up by mid-week. Good thing too because my custom bellhousing adapter ring is just finishing up at the CNC shop so I'll be ready to drop in the engine and trans very soon!

Ever since a buddy of mine got his first Eco-boost F150 I've been dying to see one in an E-series, I would love to have that kind of torque in my SMB. That cutaway RS might just be the new holy grail!
Amazing workmanship continues on your Cummins swap !....
