OK, finally mounted the panels to the roof, using VHB Tape and 3m 5200 sealant. The cables still need to be secured, and edges sealed a bit more. The second the panel hit the VHB Tape, it was stuck; if I was going to mount another set, I'd have another set of hands or keep the tape unwrapped at the sides, so as to keep the sides from sticking until the center was set and ready, as it moved real quick to being stuck. It's pretty good, yet I wanted to adjust them a bit more. I used a Blue Sea cable clam to pass-through the roof. Might add a simple wind deflector to keep air from shooting under the panels, as there's a little space under the center of the panels, though not sure what to use yet.

The 2 sensor wires (voltage and battery temp) were pretty short, so I had to make it a short run to the batteries. While there, I also ran a piece of conduit behind the upper cabinets to run the cables from the panels, down to the controller. I backed the van under an overhang on my house, which makes it easier to climb onto the roof; the pic shows where the panels will go, behind the vent.

Finally resolved the hi-boost whistle and loss of power on my 6.0. Started around 8-10 months ago. I've blown turbo hoses before and it is obvious whoosh sound with extreme loss of power. This has been a whistle at higher rpm's and slight loss of power. Started looking around a couple weekends ago and saw quite a bit of oil residue around / under the first blue hose coming out of the turbo. A little research indicated it's a good sign of a hose with a tear in it. Bought hot side turbo end and CAC end boots and spent 2 hours swapping them out today. Was very happy to find a slit in the turbo end boot! All is good again. Power is back and whistle is gone.

Reinstalled the galley box, used to be white & needed it to match our wood (maple & cedar) look we have going on in the van now, also did the back doors & one side barn door in cedar with a bottle opener added.

You know, in some circles, the whistle is a feature!

Rear spring install
A year ago, I installed new front coil springs, Fox shocks, and steering stabilizer, and this year decided to go for the rear leaf springs too. The original rear leaf springs were the 22yr old, and I'm assuming stock springs on 3" blocks. The old springs showed some damage and wear, so I decided not to just add a new leaf or two. The new springs, were from Agile Offroad, and were made to get the same 3" lift without the blocks, and take the van weight a little better. The springs seemed quite heavy, yet the install was still doable in the driveway. Most of the install was maneuvering the spring to the right spot, yet to get the last bolt, it took a bottle jack and C clamp, to get it to line up. I took it for a spin around town, yet still need to secure my Solar cables, on the roof, before heading out for a real trip. Hopefully I can take her out real soon.
